SSIEM 2026 poster: Dietary liberalization in patients with PKU and controlled blood phenylalanine levels: APHENITY extension study findings

This poster, presented at SSIEM 2026, examines the long-term efficacy and safety of sepiapterin in people with phenylketonuria (PKU) and controlled blood phenylalanine (Phe) levels

  • Review data highlighting the effects of sepiapterin in participants with PKU who have controlled blood Phe levels (<360 μmol/l)
  • Assess changes in low-Phe supplemental protein intake and the proportion of participants meeting dietary protein targets
  • Understand the safety and tolerability of long-term sepiapterin treatment and its potential to support greater dietary flexibility
▼ Sepiapterin is subject to additional monitoring. This will allow quick identification of new safety information. Healthcare professionals are asked to report any suspected adverse reactions via the national reporting system. Adverse events should also be reported to PTC Therapeutics at pharmacovigilance@ptcbio.com.
